Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to continuously modify and improve or develop new enterprise-wide information technology (IT) based control systems, such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Materials Resource Planning (MRPII) and similar.Typically, the development of such a system will be in liaison with an appropriate technical expert who may be an internal expert or an external consultant.This unit applies to an individual responsible for the development and implementation of new systems or modifications to the current system. While the individual might generate the ideas for change themselves and undertake a significant part of the final implementation, they may also be working closely with an appropriate technical expert (such as the software system supplier) who may actually make the modifications.No licensing or certification requirements exist at the time of publication. Relevant legislation, industry standards and codes of practice within Australia must be applied. | ||
